Add Media Within a VDP: Update Feature

Add Media Within a VDP: Update Feature

With this latest update from our team at EDealer, you can put media right into the body of the vehicle detail pages (VDP) on your website, instead of relegating them to the media gallery! Choose between putting them either above the description (appearing below the vehicle details and above the vehicle description), or below the description (appearing below both) and put model videos, promotional ads, and more, right where they can’t be missed!

Two screenshots show how to add media to VDPs and what it looks like once added.

How to Add Media Within VDPs

Follow these steps to add media to your VDPs in the location you choose:

  1. Log in to Evolve
  2. Go to Settings > Bulk Adjustments
  3. Create a new Bulk Adjustment with type Media Adjustment
  4. Choose the media you want to display (photos and YouTube videos are both supported)
  5. Pick the new Within VDP position mentioned above (“Above Description” or “Below Description”) that you prefer
  6. Find the VDPs you want to put the media items on with your usual filters or tags
  7. Click “Save"

Important Notes

  1. Videos will not autoplay within the VDP. Instead, viewers have to press play, which then captures the interaction for your analytics, alongside other media engagement. This gives you more accurate data on how much interaction the videos are getting.
  2. If there are multiple items in the same position, they will be displayed together in a carousel.
  3. Any media adjustments using this placement can be seen in Evolve in a new “VDP Adjustments” section (appearing in the media gallery just above “Damage Photos”). This lets you know that these items live on the page rather than in the gallery, for better clarity.
